My first love was a sweet Chestnut pony named Dapples.
At the young age of 5 I spent summer days at the barn in Amagansett, Long Island, learning to horseback ride and discovering a whole new world of independence. Riding boots laced up, brand new horse riding jodhpurs on, and helmet under my arm, I followed my instructor to the stall where Dapples would be patiently waiting. I took the reigns in my other hand and we headed into the training ring for my first lesson.
Finding my stride in the world of horses was a freeing journey. And after all the years of riding, Dapples still remains one of the most pivotal moments in my journey of horsemanship.
My photography carries many aspects of my experiences from horseback riding. The dapples — the small moments of light, wonder, and synchronicities — are captured through my lens on a whim. Photography is a never ending journey, and I am excited to share a collection of these dapples with you.
